Join us this Good Neighbor Day as Crisis Response International mobilizes to serve Song House Farm in Goodlettsville, TN—a unique property known for bringing people together through music, creativity, and community. Recently impacted by severe tornado damage, the farm is now covered with downed trees and debris, creating an urgent need for hands-on help. CRI will be deploying with equipment and leading local volunteers to clear the property and help restore the land so it can continue serving its purpose. This operation requires physically capable responders who are experienced with chainsaw operation, heavy lifting, and working in active cleanup environments. If you’re ready to step into a demanding but meaningful day of service, come prepared to work hard, serve well, and bring hope to a community in recovery.
Requirements: Responders > Chainsaw Operators, physcially fit to carry logs.
*This opportunity requires bending twisting and lifting. This opportunity is expected to be physically strenuous.
*This opportunity is not recommended for those with severe outdoor allergies or asthma.,
*Working alongside and leading local day volunteers.
*Ages 12 and up are welcome with accompanying parent or legal guardian, who will be responsible for them.
When: Saturday May 16th, 7AM - 7PM
Where: Goodlettsville, TN
Agenda: Show-up time: 7:00 AM
Start time: 7:00 AM after check-in and any briefing
Meal time: TBD, one meal will be served
End time: 7:00 PM
Coffee: Available in the morning if needed
After the event: Fire and gathering time afterward
What to bring: Water (bring plenty to stay hydrated throughout the day).
Snacks (one meal will be provided, but extra fuel is recommended).
Hat or sun protection (or rain gear—keep an eye on the weather).
Eye protection (safety glasses or equivalent).
Work gloves (durable, preferably cut-resistant).
Sturdy footwear (closed-toe boots with good traction; no sneakers if possible).
Long pants and a durable shirt (for protection against debris and chainsaw work zones).
Personal PPE if you have it (helmet, ear protection, chainsaw chaps if applicable).
Sunscreen and bug spray (depending on conditions).
